Even though this is early summer, Capitol Forest can experience micro-climates. Be ready for everything from sun to mist to fast-changing weather patterns. Pay attention to the forecast close to race day. You can expect pleasant conditions but pack accordingly should weather change.

You know yourself best! We do want to see runners with the ability to carry fluids. Whether it be a running vest or a handheld bottle, aid stations will be along the route for you to refill bottles.

Olympia, WA - June 13th, 2026
The Freedom Endurance 50 is a rugged 52-mile ultramarathon through the beautiful Capitol Forest trail system west of Olympia, Washington. This is an entirely runnable course—if you’re up for it. The terrain rolls steadily with consistent elevation gain, but just when the climbs start to take their toll, you’ll find sections of flat singletrack and fast descents where you can open up and reset.
